BUWAN NG WIKA
Buwan ng Wika" is a month-long celebration in the Philippines dedicated to the Filipino language. It is observed every August, with the aim of promoting and preserving the use of the Filipino language, as well as recognizing the country's diverse linguistic and cultural heritage. The celebration of Buwan ng Wika has its roots in Proclamation No. 1041, which was signed by then-President Corazon Aquino on January 15, 1997. The proclamation designated the month of August as "Linggo ng Wika" (Language Week) and encouraged the observance of activities that highlight the importance of the Filipino language in national development. During Buwan ng Wika, schools, government offices, and various organizations across the Philippines organize a variety of events and activities to celebrate and promote the Filipino language.

These performances often showcase various artistic expressions, including cultural dances, theatrical presentations, musical performances, and poetry recitations, all centered around promoting and appreciating the Filipino language and heritage. Students, schools, and communities participate in these events to highlight the importance of the Filipino language and celebrate the richness of Filipino culture. The performances aim to foster a deeper connection to the national identity and encourage a sense of pride in the country's linguistic and cultural diversity.
