About Our Project

Plastic has been a big problem in our community and in society. We can see plastic everywhere we go. Single-use plastics are thrown everywhere and people, some or most of the people in society today don't know how to do a proper disposal of single-use plastics. The students of Holy Cross High School found a way to minimize the problem. This project is beneficial in society in many ways. This project was made for children aged 6 years and below. The researchers wanted to contribute to society, so they decided to make an improvised chair.
Goal of the Project
Our goal in our research is to help maintain the amount of waste dumped in landfills and oceans. To protect the natural environment from pollution and it helps mitigate global warming, and also helps reduce the effects of greenhouse gases emissions. We wanted to conduct this research because aside from helping reduce pollution in the environment, it can also be furniture in any household. We also wanted to show that non-biodegradable products can be useful in making an improvised product. This is the reason why the researchers wanted to make an improvised stool using recycled plastic bottles with the thought of making something useful while reducing the waste in the environment. We would also like to inspire future researchers to think of limitless ideas and create stuff using plastics.
Benefits of our research
-
It can help to conserve the natural resources and the energy that would be required to produce plastic from scratch.
-
It can help to reduce the amount of waste that goes to the landfills and the waste that is dumped in the ocean.
-
It can be useful in our house so that we could have a chair to sit.
-
It reduces water pollution and air pollution (from landfilling) by reducing the need for conventional waste disposal and it reduces greenhouse gases emissions.
